The 3" recessed casters have a weight rating of 75 pounds per pair. They are hard rubber attached to a solid steel axle inside a steel housing. Though typically ordered in conjunction with our aluminum telescopic tow handle mounted at opposite case end, the 3" recessed casters can be used by themselves provided case is long enough to be comfortably towed with a standard issue recessed spring-loaded handle. This option is available on all Star Case types.

If purchasing this item as a hardware item, preferred installation is by way of 4 aluminum pop  rivets.  Pre-cut an opening at edge of case where you'll be installing the casters.  Take accurate measurements of the caster housing prior to cutting into case surface.  At four corners of this cut-out, tap 4 each 1/4" holes through the case surface to align with the holes in the corners of the caster housing.  Drop recessed caster assembly into place.  Drop rivets into the holes you've already drilled.  Slide a 1/4" steel washer over the rivet from inside the case and "pop" the rivets.   For further assistance, call Star Case @ 800-822-7827.

The 3" recessed casters are attached with heavy-duty aluminum rivets backed with metal washers and are mounted in a pre-routed cut-out at case outer 90 degree angle.
