Installation Instructions:

If purchasing this item as a hardware item, preferred installation is by way of 4 each 1/4" bolts with nylon speed nuts with washers.  Pre-drill 4 holes per caster through the bottom of the case using the caster mounting plate as a template.  Pass 4 bolts with 1" steel washers through each hole from inside the case.  Use a minimum 1/2" plywood casterboard between the bottom of the case and the casters.  Install caster over 4 bolts.  Place 1/2" steel washer over bolt, install speed nuts and tighten.  You'll probably need assistance holding the head of the bolt from inside the case while tightening.  For further assistance, call Star Case @ 800-822-7827.  

The 3" normal duty swivel casters are ideally suited to less rigorous travel and lighter weight loads. When installed, these casters elevate your case a total of 4-3/8" off ground surface. When you intend rolling your case over carpeting or other softer surfaces, we recommend the double-ball bearing race 3-1/2" or 5" heavy-duty casters options. Remember, these casters swivel a full 360 degrees and are offset from their ball-bearing race attachment points to the case. If your case footprint has a depth dimension that is less than 12"-14", your case is going to have a tendency to tip over when rolling if it's height exceeds the depth dimension by more than 2 times. We will make recommendations for optimum caster installation. Always try to keep the weight concentration in your case near the casters for added stability.
