Pictured here is an
RF2925 (19" wide x 29RU high x 25" depth) steel rack with optional side
panels (RFSP29RUx25), multiple 1RU
and 2RU blanking filler panels (RF1SP & RF2SP),
top cover steel panel (RFCOVPAN25), &
twin-wheel locking casters( RFCASTERS).
Built and used by one of the Joint Communications
Support Element (JCSE) Network Engineers as a personal training system.
In the words of the owners: "This rack provides easy access to eight
Intel based servers, four Cisco routers, a Cisco switch and one Sparc II server.
It is currently configured as a multiple forest – multiple domain and Exchange
test bed. The user can easily switch between systems through the use of
keyboard, video, mouse (KVM) switch. The optional wheels were well worth the
cost and make reconfiguration easy as the rack rolls out and back in with little
effort. The side panels added a finishing touch covering the side view of
the equipment. Also, the top cover panel provides ready access to the
Radio Shack TRS-80 in case of extreme emergency.
Needless to say I am really happy with this rack. It makes
learning so much easier when you have a nice setup. This rack is really an
exceptional addition to my test bed, and considering the price of this whole
set-up, it's been very respectful of my wallet as well. I am currently
using it to study for my Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) exams and
to stay current on Cisco networking."
